Ingredients
Dry ingredients
200 ml plain flour
4 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp Dansukker Light Muscovado Sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp salt flakes
1/4 tsp ancho chilli powder (optional)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Wet ingredients
150 ml milk
1 large egg
2 tbsp Dansukker Muscovado Syrup
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
30 g butter, melted
100 ml dark chocolate buttons or chopped chocolate
Instructions
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix the milk, egg, muscovado syrup, olive oil and vanilla in another bowl and whisk until fully combined.
Melt the butter and chocolate and add to the wet mixture.
Carefully pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Be careful not to stir too much.
Heat up the waffle iron. Brush it (the waffle iron) with butter or oil, pour on a little of the mixture and cook until golden brown, 2-3 minutes.
Serve with a large scoop of ice cream (any flavour) or cream.
Tip
Scatter a little Dansukker Muscovado Syrup over the top – it goes very well with chocolate.
