Ingredients
4 egg whites
½ g salt
250 g Dansukker granulated sugar
5 g Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
10 ml white wine vinegar
200-300 ml whipping cream
500 g strawberries*
Butter or margarine for greasing the dish
Flour for dusting the dish
Instructions
Grease an ovenproof dish and dust thoroughly with flour. Whisk the egg whites with the salt until they form stiff peaks. Add half the sugar a little at a time, whisking constantly. Whisk in the rest of the sugar, alternating with the vanilla sugar and vinegar. Spread the mixture in the baking tin. Bake at the centre of the oven at 150°C for 30 minutes. Raise the heat to 175˚ C and bake for a further 30 minutes. Remove the meringue from the oven and allow to cool. Whip the cream until soft peaks form and spread it over the meringue. Top with the strawberries.
Serve.
*The strawberries can be replaced with other berries, e.g. blueberries, raspberries or cloudberries.
