Pears with caramel sauce

Ingredients

4 ripe pears
1 litre water
300 g Dansukker Cane Sugar
6 g Dansukker Vanilla Sugar

Caramel sauce
200 ml whipping cream
120 g Dansukker Icing Sugar
10 g Dansukker vanilla sugar

Instructions

Peel the pears but leave the stalks attached. Combine the water, sugar and vanilla sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the pears and boil until just soft. Remove pears from liquid.

Combine the ingredients for the caramel sauce in a saucepan and boil until thickened. Arrange the pears on individual dessert plates and top with the caramel sauce.

Tip
For a delicious variation, add a cinnamon stick to the caramel sauce before boiling. Remove the cinnamon stick just before serving.
