1 kg redcurrants
3 – 5 oleaster fruits*
1 kg Dansukker Granulated sugar
100 g water

Clean and wash redcurrants, put in a saucepan, add sugar and water. Bring to boil. Add oleaster fruits and boil for 15 minutes. Let aside to cool, then pour into sterilised jars, seal and store in a cool place.


* Oleaster (lat. Elaeagnus multiflora), native in Japan, is called there a gummi. This fruit tastes like ripe persimmon or fig. Oleaster fruits are small and structurally similar to sea buckthorn.
