125 g butter or margarine
125 g Dansukker Granulated Sugar
4 egg yolks
150 g wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
50 ml milk
5 tbsp strawberry jam
4 egg whites
250 g Dansukker Granulated Sugar
Sir the butter/margarine and sugar until they are light and airy. Sir in the egg yolks one at a time. Mix the flour and baking powder and fold into the batter alternately with the milk. Pour the batter into a small greased roasting pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 175 °C. Remove the cake and spread a thin layer of jam on top.
Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Add 100 ml of the sugar while continuing to whisk. Fold the rest of the sugar into the meringue mixture. Spread the egg whites and granulated sugar mixture over the cake and bake grandfather’s beard for a further 15 minutes.
