Apples boiled in red wine with cardamom cream

Ingredients

2-4 firm apples
350 ml red wine
100 ml Dansukker Light Muscovado Sugar
100 ml Dansukker Dark Muscovado Sugar
1 cinnamon stick
150 ml double cream
1 tsp Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
Generous pinch ground cardamom
Flaked almonds

Peel, halve and core the apples. Bring the wine, muscovado sugar and cinnamon stick to the boil. Add the apple halves and simmer until almost soft. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain off excess liquid.

Whip the cream with the vanilla sugar and cardamom. Serve cream with the apples. Garnish with flaked almonds.
