Time for the big summer party with friends, or is it just the two of you at home on a warm summer’s evening? Here you can find refreshing summer drinks for all tastes as well as alcohol-free drinks. How about trying a tangy Limoncello or a sweet Strawberry liqueur?

Bubbly sangria with shrub

Bubbly sangria with shrub

1 jug sangria 30 minutes
Ingredients

Basic recipe for shrub
150 g strawberries
300 ml balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
Dansukker Cane Sugar Granulated

Sangria
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
5 tbsp shrub
1 lemon
1 lime
1 bunch of mint
750 dl sparkling wine (alcohol-free is just as good)
500 ml carbonated water
Dansukker Cane Sugar Granulated


Shrub
Rinse and chop the strawberries. Place them in a thoroughly-cleaned glass jar with a tight lid.
Heat the vinegar in a pan but do not let it boil. Pour over the strawberries and seal well. Place in the refrigerator and leave to stand for at least 2 days.
Pour the vinegar through a fine-meshed sieve a couple of times until the liquid is completely clear. Boil the vinegar together with the sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and pour into a thoroughly-cleaned glass jar. Seal. Store in the refrigerator.

Sangria
Rinse and cut the berries and fruit into smaller pieces and place in a jug with the shrub. Add some of the mint and pour over the sparkling wine and carbonated water. Finally, add a little sugar and stir.

Tip!
Make the shrub at least a few days before serving. The flavour will become more intense the longer it stands.

Refreshing strawberry shrub

Refreshing strawberry shrub

1 jar 30 minutes
Ingredients

Basic recipe for shrub
150 g strawberries

3 tbsp shrub
200 ml carbonated water
2-3 fresh strawberries
1 lime
40 ml gin (optional)


Shrub

Strawberry shrub
Pour the shrub into a jar and fill with carbonated water.
Rinse and add the strawberries. Add the gin and lime slices.

Tip!
Make the shrub at least a few days before serving. The flavour will become more intense the longer it stands.

Rhubarb Margarita

Rhubarb Margarita

1 glass
Ingredients

40 ml tequila
20 ml Cointreau
40 ml lime juice
40 ml Rhubarb syrup
Salt

Rhubarb syrup
3 rhubarb stalks, chopped
350 ml water
350 ml Dansukker Granulated Sugar


Start with the rhubarb syrup. Simmer the ingredients together for about 15 min.

Strain through a coarse-meshed sieve. Carefully squeeze the rhubarb to extract all the juice. Leave to cool.

Shake the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and rhubarb syrup.

Serve in a cocktail glass with salted edges.

Tip
For the best salt rim, rub the glass rim with a slice of lemon then turn the glass upside down in salt on a saucer.

Berry bubbles

Berry bubbles

6 glasses
Ingredients

500 ml water
5 blueberry or blackcurrant tea bags
100 g Dansukker Granulated Sugar
150 g blueberries
12 raspberries
6 strawberries
Ice cubes
700 ml sparkling rosé wine


Boil the water and add the tea bags. Allow to stand for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Refrigerate until serving. Pour the tea over ice cubes in large glasses. Divide the berries between the glasses. Add the wine and serve immediately.

Limoncello

Limoncello

Ingredients

500 g organic lemons
500 ml vodka
400 ml Dansukker White Syrup


Italian lemon liqueur, a fresh-tasting summer drink.

Wash and thinly peel the lemons. Stir together the vodka and syrup in a jar. Add the lemon peel and close the jar tightly. Leave in a dark place for 2-3 weeks. Strain, discard the peel and pour the liquid into a bottle. Serve the liqueur cold with ice cubes as an aperitif, or diluted with mineral water.

Strawberry tequila

Strawberry tequila

4 glasses
Ingredients

250 g strawberries
75 g Dansukker Superfine Sugar
150 ml tequila


Liquidise all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into four glasses. Garnish with a strawberry if desired.

Lemon refresher

Lemon refresher

4 glasses
Ingredients

50 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
100 ml Dansukker Glucose Syrup
150 ml rum (optional)
1 lime, chopped
Ice cubes
500 ml lemon-flavoured mineral water 


Mix together the lime juice, glucose syrup and rum. Divide the mixture between four glasses. Add pieces of lime and plenty of ice cubes. Add mineral water. Serve immediately.

Berry Daiquiri

Berry Daiquiri

4 glasses
Ingredients

200 ml light rum
50 ml Dansukker Light Syrup
10 strawberries or 200 ml raspberries
100-200 ml ice


Mix rum, syrup, strawberries and ice in a food processor until the berries have an even texture. Sieve the berry daiquiri into cooled glasses.

Summer punch

Summer punch

about 12 glasses
Ingredients

500 g (1 litre) raspberries
2 limes
100 ml Dansukker White Syrup
2 bottles dry rosé wine
2 bottles dry, sparkling white wine
Ice


Pick over the raspberries and rinse them if necessary. Rinse the limes thoroughly and slice them. Combine the syrup and rosé wine in a large bowl. Add the raspberries and lime slices. Add ice cubes and pour in the sparkling wine just before serving.

Strawberry liqueur

Strawberry liqueur

Makes about 500 ml
Ingredients

35 cl Vodka
500 g strawberries
400 ml Dansukker Light Syrup


Wash and trim the strawberries. Leave them on a towel or kitchen paper to dry. Put the berries in a jar and add the alcohol. Leave to mature for at least four weeks. Strain the alcohol from the berries. Mix the alcohol with the syrup. Pour into sterilised bottles.

The strained berries can be boiled with 3-4 dl Dansukker Jam Sugar to make a strong-flavoured jam for adults. Good served with a mature cheese.

Berry liqueur

Berry liqueur

About 1 litre
Ingredients

500 g berries of your choice, e.g. raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries
1 organic lemon
500 ml vodka
400 ml Dansukker Light Syrup


Pick over the berries and clean the lemon. Cut the lemon into wedges. Put the berries, lemon wedges and vodka in a jar. Leave to mature for 3-4 weeks. Strain. Reserve the liquid and discard the berries and lemon wedges. Mix the vodka with the fruit syrup. Can be served immediately, but improves with keeping.

Strawberry-elderflower tonic

Strawberry-elderflower tonic

4 glasses
Ingredients

1/2 litre strawberries
2 dl concentrated elderflower cordial
2 tbsp Dansukker Superfine Sugar
2 tsp Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
8 cl gin
4 dl Scweppes tonic water 


Fill four glasses half-way with ice. Divide the gin between the glasses. Liquidise the strawberries, cordial and both sugars. Strain and pour into the glasses. Dilute with the water.
