Have fun baking together

 

What could be more delicious than newly baked bread and cakes? That delicious smell wafting through the kitchen and the pleasure of eating freshly baked products straight from the oven. Baking together is a cosy pastime when the cool autumn weather arrives. Gather your family in the kitchen and let your imagination run free. We’ve prepared a collection of simple recipes for cakes and bread, which can be varied according to your taste and preferences. Have fun and enjoy!

 

 

 
 

Crumble muffins

Crumble muffins

 
makes about 12

 

Ingredients
Crumble topping
40 g butter or margarine
50 g Special K
30 g plain flour
30 g Dansukker Cane Sugar

 

Muffin mixture
250 g plain flour
120 g Dansukker Icing Sugar
10 g baking powder
1 egg
175 ml milk
50 ml oil

 

Flavouring suggestions
cocoa powder, gingerbread spices, saffron, raisins, blueberries, Smarties, cinnamon-dusted apple slices etc.

 

 

Quickly combine the ingredients to a breadcrumb consistency. Combine all the ingredients for the muffin mixture. Add your chosen flavourings. Pour into muffin cups. Sprinkle a little crumble mixture on each muffin. Bake at the centre of the oven at 200°C for 15 minutes.

 

 

 
 

Scones

Scones

 

Makes 2 rounds

 

Ingredients
400 ml plain flour
½ tsp salt
2 ½ tsp baking powder
50 g butter or margarine
200 ml milk
1 tbsp Dansukker Bread Baking Syrup

 

 

Preheat the oven to 250°C. Combine the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Rub the butter/margarine into the flour mixture. Add the milk and syrup and work together to make a dough.

 

Divide the dough into two balls and flatten them into fairly thick rounds. Place the rounds on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Cut each round into four segments. Prick with a fork.

 

Bake the scones at the centre of the oven for about 12 minutes.

 

 

 
 

Oat cookies

makes about 40

 

Ingredients
200 g butter or margarine, softened
175 g Dansukker Icing Sugar
210 g porridge oats
120 g plain flour
5 g baking powder


 

Soften the fat and icing sugar with a spoon. Add the remaining ingredients and combine to make a dough. Roll the dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Flatten slightly with a fork. Bake in the centre of the oven at 175°C for approx. 10 minutes. Store in a dry, airtight container.

 

 

 
 

Tiger cake

Tiger cake

 

Ingredients
50 g butter
2 eggs
180 g Dansukker Granulated sugar
100 ml milk
180 g wheat flour
1½ tsp baking powder
2 tsp Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp water
butter for the baking tin
breadcrumbs for the baking tin

 


Grease a 1-1½ l baking tin and sprinkle in the breadcrumbs. Set the oven at 175°C.
Melt the butter and allow it to cool.

 

Whisk the eggs and sugar to a froth. Mix the flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder into the egg mixture. Add the butter and milk.

 

Put 2/3 of the light dough into the baking tin, then mix the cocoa into the rest of the dough. Add the dark dough to the baking tin and draw a fork through the dough so that the finished cake has a marbled appearance.

 

Bake the tiger cake in the middle of the oven for approx. 35-40 minutes.

 

 

 
 

Savoury muffins

Savoury muffins

 

6 large or 12 small muffins

 

Ingredients
480 g wheat flour
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp Dansukker Cane Sugar
½ tsp salt
100 g butter
400 ml milk
160 g grated ripe cheese

 

Filling
300 ml finely cut leeks
100 g salami strips

 

or:
100 ml chopped, sundried tomatoes
100 g feta cheese cubes
50 ml chopped fresh basil

 

or:
100 g smoked ham cubes
½ red pepper in cubes
1 tbsp fresh oregano


 

Set the oven at 250°C.

 

Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and butter, preferably in a food processor. Add the milk and stir the batter thoroughly. Finally, stir in the chosen filling.

 

Distribute the batter into muffin tins and sprinkle on the cheese. Bake the savoury muffins in the middle of the oven for approx. 12 minutes (small) or approx. 18 minutes (large).

 

Serve warm or cold – perfect for a picnic hamper.

approx. 40 cookies

 

Ingredients
75 g butter or margarine
150 g Dansukker Brown Sugar
1 egg
100 g wheat flour
2 tsp Dansukker Vanilla Sugar
1 pinch salt
80 g roughly chopped walnuts
80 g dajm candy balls

 

 

Whisk the butter and brown sugar until airy using an electric whisk. Add the egg. Mix in egg, flour, vanilla sugar, salt, walnuts and dajm and work thoroughly into the mixture. Use tablespoons to place blobs of the dough onto baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake the cookies in the middle of the oven at 200°C for approx. 10 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on a grate.
